Conquer Mount Everest can be accomplished in many ways. Many people have mastered the skill to get it up to the roof ridge of the earth. Many more have failed and even killed themselves as described here: Conquest Mt Everest
and Ways to Conquer Mt Everest.
Take an extra mile can be applied to those never set their foot to the Mount Everest. American soldiers are trained to carry out dangerous missions often behind enemy lines collection information. They carry 80 to 90 pounds of equipment walk over 15 inches of snow at high altitudes. It simulates the severe environment in Afghanistan or Middle East. The US army intelligence often send troops to Camp Williams in Utah (south of Salt Lake City) for training.
Camp Williams, Utah intelligence in training
Capt. Jassamyn Liu, commander of A-company US Army intelligence.
These soldiers were led by their Capt Jessamyn Jade Liu, the company commander. Liu planned and traveled to Utah observe and led her soldiers. These soldiers carried the military gear but they also carried their own surveillance equipment. That can add up their backpacks up to 90 pounds while they are climbing snowy mountains.
Liu is not a stranger. President George W. Bush praised her for being valedictorian at West Point in 2006. She is tiny. George is a 6 footer so I will be surprised she stands at 5'2". Unlike other girls she only played with guns and knew she wanted to be in military service. Liu probably does not even know her grandfather Liu Chih who was also a company commander in 1926 launched unification campaign from Canton, China 83 years earlier. Lt General Liu passed away in Taiwan in 1971.
This is the beginning of 2016. It is an excellent time to set your goals. For some behind the enemy lines is their mission. For others, one reach to to the bottom of the base camp. Some in 2016 will excel. Many are dropping out of the real estate business or do little. I need to reset my RE goal. I feel I am stronger than a ~5' 2" petite woman. Would you want to join me?
