Weltan What?
In Lynn Friedman’s 2016 Blog JUMPSTART challenge, she asks us to talk about what part of the Weltanschauung speaks to us the most.
This was an easy one for me because it is in the first sentence:
“We understand that the value of the ActiveRain community rests entirely with its members.”
What drives this blogging platform as well as what keeps it going are the members. SEO, placement in Google, and referrals are not unique to ActiveRain. Many members are on LinkedIn, Pinterest, Facebook and have their own Wordpress presence.
However, what sets this blogging platform apart from anything else is the community.
Where else would you find a group who banned together to mount a social media campaign against a certain financial institution to help a member in their time of need?
Where else do members actively seek out other members when they are traveling in that member’s area?
When a member is ill or suffers a loss; or when we haven’t seen them around the community, WE call. Where else does this happen?
It is the community that is the icing on the delicious chocolate cake that is ActiveRain.
We support members when they need our help; we cheer each other when milestones are met; we share our knowledge whether it be about a new business app or a marketing piece.
If you are a lurker in the community or if your communication here has been traveling on a one-way street, that is ok. There is nothing written that says you have to comment here or that you even have to write a post.
However…..
If you want to experience the full benefit of the community, I encourage you to jump in. Read as many posts as your time will allow; comment on these posts; acknowledge those who take the time to stop by your post and comment.
And to take it a step further, pick up the phone and call a member. Perhaps it’s someone in an area you’ll be visiting; or someone whose post struck a chord with you.
It’s your blog and your choice what you do with it (within the ActiveRain Community Guidelines) but if you want to capture the best of what this community offers, become an ACTIVE member!
