JP Morgan Chase Tower - On Throw Back Thursday

United Energy Bldg

The JP Morgan Chase Tower building located in downtown Houston is the last building I worked in.

It is 75 stories tall (1,002 feet in height). The tallest building in the state of Texas and the 12th in the nation.

I watched this building being constructed for our company from the Penzoil Building's twelfth floor; where I worked in the Treasury Department for United Energy Resources./United Gas Pipe Line Co. It was completed in 1982.

I passed by there the other day and a flood of memories came back.

The only thing that was missing was the bird man who would stand next to the art structure and whistle like a bird.

There have been many changes downtown and many old warehouse buildings are being converted into lofts and condo buildings are being constructed.

If you are thinking of moving into a loft or condo; or if you know of anyone who is thinking of buying or selling a home who would appreciate the high level of service I provide, just give me a call with their name and number. I’ll be happy to follow up with them for you.

I was expecting you to tell me that now it is an "ultra-luxury-condominium" high rise:), Endre

LOL Endre Barath, Jr. ...no it is still an office building. The building has gone through many name changes. However, there is a high-rise being constructed near this building that is a high rise apartment complex.

I hope that you didn't think that this building is being converted into a high rise apartment building. Like I told Endre there is one being constructed nearby. I really don't think I would mind living downtown.

Sussie, Isn't it amazing how just seeing a building will trigger so many memories? With a big shift in the work force working from home and self-employed people, it makes total sense that the office buildings are being converted to living spaces.

That is what I love about old buildings.... they stay the same; which is their beauty.

Sussie,

I am not sure about condo living for me, but I know people love it, though I do need to move just not sure where!

I would embrace condo living....but not a condo with very little space!

Sussie, Lots of height there!  I don't think I've ever had an office higher than the 2nd floor of a building!  Bill

There is a tall office building, now multi-use property in downtown Nashville that I worked in for a time. My office was near the top and I hated riding the elevator. I don't like heights.

Sussie, prior to moving to FL, I worked and lived in a high rise building and loved it. I know it's not for everyone but I love to have a condo in NYC, higher the better.

Sussie, it's funny the things that stick in our memories about places we spent a lot of time in.  Love the bird man!
