Snowy Grouper Caught Off Of Virginia Beach, VA 04-20-2008

            Deep drop fishing is becoming more and more popular and fisherman want to make the most out of their trips with the cost fuel being what it is at the marinas.  There are some new jigs on the market that have produced amazing results but if the water temperatures are too cold, than the fish will not be active enough to strike the jigs.                                                                           

        We headed 68 miles east of virginia beach departing around 3:48am to the Norfolk Canyon Walls. The skies were clear , bright , and sunny with little winds. We used 12-16 inch whole squid for bait with some cigar minnows, bluefish filets, and spanish mackeral chunks. Within seconds of dropping our lines we had several large snowy groupers hooked up and we were excited. Here is a copy of the video that we posted on you tube. We ended up catching 22 snowy grouper, some gorgeous blueline tilefish, lynx codfish, and some very large tasty seasbass ranging up to 6 lbs each. Enjoy the video

Glad you had such a great time fishing!  I see you have the video but what about the pics?
