Road Rage

ARRGGHHH!

I remember when my kids just started driving. They would come home with these stories about "that other driver"! Tell us how mad they were and then proceeded to explain what they did to "that other driver". Instantly my gut would begin to turn. My priority, was not what had just happened, but how to teach them to keep there cool when driving. Of course they thought I was nuts, but I am the "MOM".  I believe my frase was, "you never know who has a gun and I prefer to keep you alive". Then we went over there situation in the car and what had just happened to them.

This is for all of you with kids that are driving or just because it's good information.

Prevention!

1. No Tailgating! If you don't piss them off....you might hit them! Then you get the ticket!

2. Use the brakes when needed. Frequent Braking just wears them out!

3. Use your turn signals!

4. Don't block the road so you can pick up or drop off passengers!

5. Change lanes safely! Cutting someone off is so irritating! It can be scary when your on the recieving end of this!

6. Drive the speed limit. Not too fast and never too slow!

Oh my! Road Rage is here now what?

1. Never underestimate the other drivers anger.

2. Slow Down, take a breath and relax!

3. Keep your cool! Don't take it personally! Ask yourself, "Is getting back at that jerk worth losing my life?"

4. No Eye Contact with that angered driver!

5. Maybe they made a mistake and you are the one getting mad?

6. If you are followed, Don't Go Home! Go straight to a police station! Do you think they will follow?

7. Be Polite and Courteous! You are better than any road rage.

Great Post...   My kids are at the driving age now and I am watching what I do every moment now... As experienced driver's we tend to forget the little things that our kids may pick up on.   Although the other driver can't hear me cuss under my breath, my kids do and thats not good either.

The trick is to get them to hear what you say!! We can talk until we turn blue and it doesn't count until they actually HEAR YOU!

Thanks for your comment! :)
