The majority of homes in all of HRM took 60 days to sell in 2015, so if you were on the market much longer than that, would you be upset? Frustrated? Worried?
Understandably, you would be but if you knew the median time it took to sell in your area was 103 days would it make you feel better if you haven't sold in that time? That means the majority of homes in your area sold in and around that amount of days so it would only stand to reason that yours would too. If it sold much sooner, bonus. Much longer, well then you know that you are well over priced but what you would know for sure is not to be stressed if it didn't sell in 60 days.
Many areas that make up the HRM are so different for various reasons that there's no way for one statistic to apply. As you can see in the following graph, the 25 areas that make up HRM are very different. (List of MLS areas is below) Price also varies for different areas which you can read more here.
If you are interested in knowing more about your area and how it compares to HRM statistics, I created a five year historical market comparison report for each of the areas. Email me a request for the one in your area.
