Cinco Ranch Branch Library which is part of the Fort Bend County Library System is offering a no charge Food for Thought “Class on Saturday January 30, 2016. The class starts at 11 AM and lasts until noon and will be held in Multipurpose Room of the Library
There are numerous foods and food groups which benefit the heart but there are Foods which can improve brain health as well. Improving brain health will make a someone more healthy and happier person assuming there are not serious existing health issues.
Susan Giles who is community liason with Amazing Place Houston will conduct a talk centered on ways to achieve or attain a healthier brain by concentrating on nutritional value of foods we consume. She will cover the benefits of eating brain healthy foods such as green leafy vegetables, fresh berries such as blueberries, whole grains, olive oil, fish oil, certain nuts and spices. As we get older preserving our brains and minds become even more important goal or mission.
This is a topic which appeals to me as the most valuable asset we all have is our health. Eating healthy every day needs to be a top priority for all of us. The more we know about healthy eating the easier it is for us to improve our daily food consumption patterns, potentially lose weight and improve our overall health. I need to add get exercise to this equation.
