No, nothing needs to be said about this picture...but then you know I'm going to add my thoughts anyway. Respect! This picture is the epitome of that word. Over the last few weeks Active Rain members have been reading posts about respect, as it relates to Active Rain, but this? Well....this is what that word looks like!

Yes Karen nothing needs to be said. My brother was one of those soldiers that guarded the tomb and he was very proud of his duty. Wish he was still with us.

Karen, my body rolled with goose bumps looking at the photo. Not because it is snowing and freezing cold ... because of what the soldier is doing ... and why.
I feel the same way. There are things I can't talk about because I get too emotional.
Karen, I agree with you. These guards go through more than most people do in a decade. They will and never leave their post without a replacement

Hi Karen Fiddler, Broker/Owner , It has been decades since I visited the tomb of the unknown soldier, but it was warm with now snow then. Guarding that tomb, is a job that I would have trouble doing. I sure admire them!
