I know it is hard to believe there are any lessons to be learned from politics or politicians in particular. I am already tired just seeing the polls, the pun-dints, and the candidates endless interviews
However, one term stands out to me and it seems appropriate to any business too: ground game. My take on this includes planning, thinking about the people you are trying to connect with and then getting out and dealing directly with these folks. There is no magic marketing technique that is any better than getting directly with the people you are looking to attract. You can rationalize, hide your eyes or buy into the Sky's but nothing works like talking directly to your constituency: the people you want to sell. not get out and hit the ground...........
