Restaurant week in Maine began in 2009 and is a statewide event rather then focusing on only Portland. Ironically, many of the top restaurants in Portland don't participate and I'm sure their reasoning makes sense. There are tons of amazing restaurants here hence the recently received "America's foodiest town" label and insane reservation wait during peak tourist season.
