What I Learned in Real Estate - #2

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker RCI Realty

As a locally owned real estate office we like to encourage using other local services throughout the buying and selling process.  Such as lenders, appraisers, inspectors and contractors for things needing fixed.   This was reinforced for our agent, Nancy when dealing with an out of state lender for some clients recently...

Maybe we get spoiled here in Montana, but we expect a certain level of customer service.  I suppose not everyone understands that friendliness is key to good customer service.  When recently working with an out of state lender the first thing I realized was their lack of this basic thing.  I can handle poor customer service, we’ve all had to deal with that at some point in our lives.

However, the other problem with using this out of state lender was there wasn't a sense of personal connection with my client.  When I have clients I have been helping through their home search, they become important to me.  I try hard to keep the home buying process going as smoothly as possible so it bothers me when a lender doesn’t treat them with the same high level of quality service.  In my years in real estate I have found I can count on the local, Bozeman lenders to be knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process.
