Ringing and Singing in the Rain with Gabe Sanders
I had the pleasure of speaking with Gabe Sanders earlier this week. I have been reading and communicating in the Rain with Gabe for a fairly long time now. Gabe Sanders is intelligent and very talented guy. He has had an interesting life and is an excellent Realtor with lots of knowledge.I immediately thought of calling Gabe when I saw this January Challenge posted.
Gabe is a Team Leader with BlueWater Realty which specializes in Martin County FL Residential Homes, Condos and Land sales. He prefers to be involved in all the technical aspects of the business. He has a engineering degree from NYU which explains his technical expertise at least to me. .
Gabe joined the Air Force and was flying C-141 transport planes in South East Asia during the Vietnam war. Thank you Gabe for your service to this great nation. Afterwards, Gabe was a pilot with Delta Airlines for 27 years before he got involved in Real Estate. He took a retirement package from Delta but did not want to actually retire. Many folks have faced this work dilemma. He decided he would try Real Estate as he figured you did not have to have previous work experience in this field but this before he realized how many agents there were in Florida and how hard one has to work to make money in this business.
Gabe admitted to me he is a work alcoholic as he works 12-14 hours a day 7 days a week. I suspected Gabe was a very dedicated worker before we spoke. He has not taken a vacation in some time. He says this work situation is what he does and it is part of him now. I have no idea how he does it.. Big shout out to Mr. Gabe. He use to have several hobbies including windsurfing but these all took too much of his time. Gabe and his wife Barbara have been married for about 17 years.
I asked Gabe the questions which were needed to be covered in Debbie Reynolds January Challenge which were:
!. How is business in your area? Gabe stated it is good but not as strong as the last 2 years when local Stuart FL. Real Estate prices increased.
2. What do they hope to accomplish in their business during 2016 ? Gabe responded he just wanted to stay alive and I can certainly relate to that. He plans to spend more time with clients in the field this year as opposed to what he did in 2015.
He is very happy with the position of BlueWater as a business and does not have plans of becoming a mega sized organization as there is just too much stress. He also is very happy not to be a Broker as it brings a lot of additional legal responsibilities. I am in the same boat as Gabe when he comes to becoming a broker or broker associate.
3. What does he hope to achieve through ActiveRain in 2016? Gabe plans to keep doing the same things he has been doing in ActiveRain. He writes blogs mainly which are market reports, posts describing listings, jokes a couple times a week and discussion of homes BlueWater represented the buyer. He feels this approach provides himself and BlueWater with excellent SEO. He likes the camaraderie and personal interaction with other folks which ActiveRain affords all who participate. He hopes some business will develop based on his ActiveRain involvemnet during 2016.
It was great for me to get to finally get to meet Gabe via the phone and I hope we can talk in the future.
