Where is the Sacramento Housing Market Headed?

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

Everybody is talking about what a fabulous year 2015 was for real estate in Sacramento -- OK, it was for some of us -- and wondering where we are headed in 2016. It's always in the numbers. Sure, I can lick my finger and hold it up to see which way the wind blows, but it won't tell me as much as analyzing the numbers and past performance.

Future performance can sometimes be attributed to trends in real estate. Things that are continually moving down, tend to keep going that way until there is a change. Ditto with numbers moving up. A slight change here and there is not always a trend, either.

But the situations that I see in my own business often shadow the numbers of the trends because I move a lot of inventory in Sacramento, much more than the average Joe out there. You can read more about this and see all the numbers and charts in my personal blog today at this link: Sacramento Housing Report for 2016.

Elizabeth,  I've said the same thing to many clients recently .. "A slight change here and there is not always a trend ..." and it is too soon to tell if what we are seeing is a blip on the radar or the beginning of a trend.

Lots of buyer demand and not a lot of Sacramento homes on the market sounds like a great time for a Sacramento seller to pick up the phone and call Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents  to get top dollar for their home NOW.

Good morning Elizabeth. Your market is much stronger than what we have in our local area, fortunately it will have very little effect as I do mortgages in 8 states.

Elizabeth, we are expecting a fabulous 2016 also, and maybe for another few years.  Inventory is still scary low, and lots of buyers!  Here's to a great year for you in 2016!

Kathleen Daniels With the drop in interest rates again to less than 4% and the Feds holding steady, this is a great time for buyers.

Chris Ann Cleland No sooner do I list a home pretty much than it sells; it's hard to keep anything in inventory right now, although I do spend an inordinate amount of time preparing my listings for market.

I'm not suprrised that the low marketing time doesn't have you changing your attention to detail when getting your listings ready.  That's what makes you a pro.
