Everybody is talking about what a fabulous year 2015 was for real estate in Sacramento -- OK, it was for some of us -- and wondering where we are headed in 2016. It's always in the numbers. Sure, I can lick my finger and hold it up to see which way the wind blows, but it won't tell me as much as analyzing the numbers and past performance.
Future performance can sometimes be attributed to trends in real estate. Things that are continually moving down, tend to keep going that way until there is a change. Ditto with numbers moving up. A slight change here and there is not always a trend, either.
But the situations that I see in my own business often shadow the numbers of the trends because I move a lot of inventory in Sacramento, much more than the average Joe out there.
