The Carlsbad Village Lifestyle by the Sea – Niche Blogging in 2016
Bob Stewart challenged us to think about the Year of the Blog and to declare what our niche blogging for 2016 was all about. And that means putting it in writing, not just having the vision.
My primary focus is, and has been for some time, on relocation (I'm known as the Southern California Relocation Dude) primarily with those moving to the coastal areas of San Diego, and specifically Carlsbad.
I know relocation, I’ve lived it 4 major times, and I write about it here and on my other blogs, with Relocation A to Z being the most detailed (but now with articles being posted here and on At Home In Carlsbad dot com).
Drilling down a bit, my niche blogging will be about the Carlsbad Village lifestyle by the sea, especially for those moving to our beautiful ocean-side community.
Carlsbad Village is the business hub of Carlsbad, a community of around 110,000 people in North San Diego County, around 35 miles from downtown San Diego. The Village, in addition to many places to dine, shop and relax, and plenty for tourists to do in addition to the beaches, offers a wide range of housing options, although somewhat limited due to inventory.
I love the Carlsbad lifestyle and want to share that with readers, and those making to move here.
So here’s the focus for the coming year (with plenty of other ideas floating around):
1. Market reports – you have to know about the market so you can make intelligent decisions about buying and selling and the focus will be on the 92008 area with even more detailed reports. And of course any listings I have in the Village will be showcased
2. The Beaches – while it’s one long beach in Carlsbad there are different areas by the Village with different feels and access points
3. Things to do at the Beach in Carlsbad Village - it's NOT just surfing
4. Surfing shops - I'm not a surfer but who cares
5. Beachwear retailers
6. Parking in the Village - it's free!
7. Biking in the Village
8. Transportation Options in Carlsbad Village including Amtrak and the Coaster
9. Wine-ing in Carlsbad Village – wine tasting and shopping
10. Breakfast places to enjoy in the Village
11. Where to lunch in the Village
12. Dinners in Carlsbad Village
13. Carlsbad Village Theatre
14. Art Galleries in Carlsbad
15. Public Art in the Village - including the Carlsbad Art Wall
16. Types of housing, pricing, amenities, and specific areas to buy in
17. Fairs and Festivals – Carlsbad Village is known for these, and there are several
18. Musical offerings
19. Other Special Events
20. The Holidays in Carlsbad Village – not just Christmas!
And I’ll be talking more about what the lifestyle is like in Carlsbad Village. Indeed one could argue there are a number of them – tourists, full time resident, vacation home residents, seniors and more. It will be fun, and by the end of the year you’ll know more than you could have imagined!
Some other last minute ideas – micro brews in Carlsbad, new restaurants, new shops, introductions to business owners (photos and videos) and their shops, and other services for vacationers and residents. And of course I'll toss in some more relocation tips and advice along the way, specific to Carlsbad Village, or just in general.
I hope you’ll stop by!
