Feng Shui and My Business.

By

I am sure that everyone at some time in the Real Estate careers has walked into a home and just smiled.

Everything was right, you would not change anything.  There was a certain energy in the home that

connected with you.  In moments like this you looked at the clients you were with and just smiled.

They typically smiled back.  PERFECT.

Feng Shui is a complex body of knowledge that

teaches us how to balance the energies of any

given space so that health and good fortune can be

obtained for people inhabiting it. It is the art of

correct manner so that harmony with the

environment can be achieved. This harmony can

refer to harmony in the home, in wealth, in

relationship and many other aspects in your lives.

Chinese believed that all buildings were affected

by their surroundings of mountains, hills, valleys,

water and so on. In Feng Shui, a home or building

were considered lucky and blessed when they are

placed in the most auspicious surroundings. Your

home position in relation to its surroundings has an

affect on your health, wealth, luck and relationships.
ccording to Feng Shui, when you change the surroundings, you also change your life.

I stumbled on this idea and did some reading it is quite interesting for a theory over 3000 years old.

It has some impact on our lives even though we might call it something else.

I've been a big believer in Feng Shui for years. You might want to connect with Laura Cerrano who is an ActiveRain Feng Shui expert.

There are different schools of thought on this, too, depending upon whether you look at American bred Feng Shui or traditional Chinese. The direction a home faces, or any kind of building, not having a home at the end of a T-intersection for example, I could go on and on! I made sure that the owner of my realty co. would put the lid down on the toilet, because according to Feng Shui, you are flushing money (prosperity) down the toilet if the lid is up! He started to do that and his business improved!

So true Peter.

Feng Shui can be very important to some buyers. Certain cultures won't even consider a house if there are certain things in or not in place.

Certain numbers in the address or the floor the condo is on, where the staircase is situated in a home & which direction it faces in respect to the front door.

When I designed a front yard plan for a client in Edmonton, we had to make sure the tree on the one side was taller than the tree on the other.

So many things can affect a property, & as you stated, it makes one feel 'at home' or not. Great post!
