Did I ever tell you a dirty little secret I've been keeping? The money is in the benefits!

It has been THE secret weapon countless times.

It was unnecessary for me to write the book to benefit. However getting someone to write about you is much more difficult than writing your own book.

Michael Miller and other world famous authors who write business books spilled the beans.

They shared there is NO $$$ in being an author....

....all the $$$ is in the BENEFITS!

 

In my experience of the authority delivered by appearing in a book, as I shared copies of Youtube for Business containing my profile, was the grand finale preceding the signing.

Many world famous authors of business books said they make around $35,000 from selling books.

Made millions, $10,000,000 by one account, from having demand because he was an author.

So become an author and
YOU can:

-List a lot more homes a month
-Increase referrals by 75% (think collateral)
-Win the listing appointment
-Build a top team or business with those who understand authority


All starts with a single step.

       write a book.


It’s the best thing since lockboxes made homes easier to show.
It's the best authority from which to exhibit your value.

And if you do it right, as described in a previous blog, the recognized writer of a BEST SELLER.

Those who have no book will attempt to say, "Anyone can self publish! What's the big deal?" That is very much like the real estate school instructor telling students how to succeed in real estate. Take care regarding those things upon which your mind and spirit feed.


Not writing a book today, is like not buying Apple stock 20 years ago! Or UPS or Google or Facebook. Hind-site will once more be 20/20.

Collect your AR blogs and add those stories you were too shy to share and hire a professional to turn your sows ear into a real book.

Good advice! I have a couple of little e-books that sell OK on Kindle, but I do nothing to promote them. 

I have 2 or 3 other books on the long version of my to-do list, but (thankfully) writing for my clients keeps me to busy to get them done. 

Way back when I was in real estate my Mom encouraged me to write about the crazy/strange clients/customers we had - with the idea of writing a book some day. I did follow her advice, but somehow along the trail of crashed computers, that file got lost. 

The only one I remember is a client who always stated his name and then spelled it. I forget the exact name, but it was something as simple as Bill Clark. He'd say "This is Bill Clark - B I L L  C L A R K."

Yes to this premise. However, go to a book store and start picking out books at random and you will notice quickly that not every book is interesting. The book is not the prize but the contents and how it is delivered is a whole another story

I have real estate clients in Sacramento who think I made a million dollars selling my book about short sales, but the real benefit was in the business it delivered to my doorstep and the instant credibility. Plus, I did not have to pay to publish the book; I instead received royalties. Many of the "profilers" charge their "profilees" nowadays.

For those who feel inspired, my secrets were: put together a list of chapters, and write 1,000 words a day at a specific time every day. I generally wrote from 4 PM to 6 PM.

It just occured to me, so I want to make it clear... Annette and I don't know each other and are not currently working together nor have we worked together in the past.  Not to say we won't in the future though! 

I just happened to see her post late last night and responded.

In addition to the upcoming book for real estate agents, I am also publishing two others... Mortgage Myths and Misconceptions and The Livable Home. Mortgage Myths is for mortgage professionals (although I would welcome the perspective of one or two real estate experts). The Livable Home is to showcase local service providers. The first installment of The Livable Home will feature interior renovation and remodeling experts... kitchen and bath remodels, flooring, counter tops, staircases, etc. This book is begging for a real estate professional to jump in and lead the charge. Think of the credibility you'd build with your referral partners and your prospects and clients. It's the perfect way to achieve and maintain "top of mind awareness".

If you have a favorite loan officer or service provider who you feel would benefit from becoming a Best Selling Author, I would appreciate the referral.
