In January 2016, Schuylkill MLS did away with our old (and prehistoric) NAVICA MLS system and moved to the more powerful TREND MLS, that is powered by the Matrix system. This provides us with tons more data and statistics. That’s the good news. The bad news is that unlike Berks, which has years of data to pull from on their system, Schuylkill is new, so it will take some time to gather the data and get information as good as what we have in Berks. This is a fresh start and it’s like moving from the Stone Age to the Space Age overnight. Here’s what we have in the system so far, for 2015 data.
As you can see, 2015 was a good year for Schuylkill County real estate sales. We were up over 16% in total settled units from 2013-2014 and again 10% from that in 2014-2015. Note that not all sales in Schuylkill County are registered yet in the TREND system, but this is a good start.
Average settled price in 2015 was $116,000 and the median price was $93,000.
Now that we are fully switched to TREND, ongoing months will get better and better data. We’ll keep you updated as things go on and we get more information each month here in Schuylkill County.
