The State of Cape Coral-Florida

Cape Coral has become an often mentioned city as a great place to live, work and retire. So I want to give you the STATE OF CAPE CORAL.

Cape Coral was one of the hardest hit cities in America when the housing crash occurred. But now the city has rebounded and has become a destination city.

The average age of residents is 43 and in the last 3 years we have seen a 10% population growth.

Here are some highlights about Cape Coral:

Named #3 for Future Job Growth

Top 10 for Coastal Towns to Retire to.

#27 Best Cities to Live in the US.

#2 Safest City in Florida

Cape Coral works hard to improve the city for the benefit and comfort of residents and visitors. Here are some of the improvements that were made in 2015:

68 miles of roads paved

142 new street lights

7.7 miles of sidewalks constructed

25,328 permits pulled for both commercial and residential

The Westin has announced it will build a 35,000 square foot Convention facility

90 miles of interconnected Bike routes have been completed

Cape Coral has a population of 170,000 and is 43% built out.

Planning is well underway to promote the City to attract larger companies to provide more job opportunities.

Cape Coral is a city on the rise. A great place to live, to work, to play and to retire.

And that is how I see the State of Cape Coral-Florida.

Conrad Allen I agree that we often think that the age is much higher, but not in Cape Coral.

Good morning John. Great job with your report, you're right Cape Coral has a lot going for it and from a number that I know in the area, a wonderful place to live.

the 43% built out seems low to me.  Having visited there I would have guessed it was closer to 70%.  I guess I didn't get out and visite the undeveloped areas though.  It's a beautiful city.  And had some wonderful dining.

Tammy Lankford the Southern part of Cape Coral is the most built out while the Northern part is sparsely populated.
