Minot ND Rifle and Pistol Club, Youth Program

ND Shooting SportsMinot ND has a great program for youth 8 years of age to 20 years old for those who want to learn how to be marksman.

My daughter Tina falls into that category so today we headed for the range for the first time. Tina is already enrolled in a marksmanship class at school through the Air Force Jr. ROTC program.

Well, we picked the wrong day because they are hosting a Jr. Olympics shooting event today so we didn't get to "pull the trigger" on this plan. We did however learn allot about the program and will be prepared for our first round of action in two weeks.

I think it's very interesting that in the one where officer Steve is talking (now Sheriff Steve) and he says he has never had to deal with a kid in the program professionally. Let me state that in simple terms, he has never seen a kid that has been in this program in trouble with the law... EVER!

The instructor we met today was absolutely wonderful to Ronald DiLalla . He was so patient in answering questions and so good about explaining how the program works.

Even though Tina is in Jr ROTC and in their marksmanship program she still learned a lot today and it wasn't even an official meeting Kathy Streib . It's a very impressive program.

Bob "RealMan" Timm I remember very well attending an organized training program to enable me to use a firearm at a young age. Afterwards, I was able to go hunting with my Father and enjoyed many years of the Great Outdoors with him. These programs are essential in promoting safety and stronger families.

I feel all kids need to go through gun training so that they understand what to do and not do if they find and or handle a gun
