The Weekend Wine Review is a weekly series I will do on Monday’s featuring the wine tasted over the weekend. We continued the celebration of our friends Birthday this weekend, only the adults this time and we took him out to The Capital Grille as part of his birthday celebration and also as a Thank You for doing a yeoman’s job taking my dad back and for to dialysis. We ordered Pahlmeyer Merlot 2013, experts say it is best to drink after 2019. It was an excellent choice, the wine was decanted and let to breathe for a bit. The wine was a deep intense purple hue, it also had a rich dark velvety mocha taste with smokiness hints of blackberry was apparent. It retails for about $85 dollars and is definitely as special occasion wine as our budget does not allow for this every week!
