We are and will continue to be full time Floridians!

At one time Cary and I thought about being snowbirds. Even though we live in South Florida full time now we had dreamed of keeping my childhood home for a place to escape the warmer months of Florida. After spending several months in Western PA this past spring, fall, and Christmas. And now back here once again during the "real" winter months, I know that this is not for me anymore.

When we would come to visit for a couple weeks, we would run around doing our old favorite things, but after being here for more than a couple weeks at a time, I know that those few things we loved to do will not sustain us/me through the rest of the year.

Western PA is a beautiful area, it's just that I like real sunshine on a daily basis. The snow and the cold were fun for a couple days, but that novelty has worn off after cleaning the 250' driveway more than twice this week (and it is waiting to be done again today). And when summer rolls around, the acre of grass will need to be maintained. Life here in the northeast is just not my cup of tea anymore.

Being here has taught me to appreciate all that we have in South Florida, not just the sunshine and the beaches, but the fact that we are within a short driving distance to restaurants, shopping, sports events, concerts, museaums, the list is endless. I love the fact that we can jump on one of the many cruise ships for a quick inexpensive getaway to the Bahama's without paying for airfare, taxi, and hotel just to get to the port. There is always something going on around us either in Broward, Palm Beach, and Dade County. 

I've come to realize living in the north is no longer for me. I don't want to live here in PA or the northeast in general full time and I don't want to live here part time. I'm a true Floridian now! And I look forward to returning to South Florida, soon!!
