Throw Back Thursday ~ Good to the Last Drop

Home Inspector with Complete Home Inspections, Inc. TN Lic#050

Maxwell House Coffe Can, Circa 1960    Maxwell House Coffee, Nashville, Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Theodore Roosevelt have a lot in common. In 1886, Joel Cheek designed and introduces a superior coffee blend and marketed it through Nashville’s ritziest hotel, the Maxwell House. 7 US Presidents stayed at the Maxwell House and Theodore Roosevelt, while visiting the Hermitage, Andrew Jackson’s estate, in 1907, was so impressed with the blend he coined the term, “Good to the Last Drop”. Who is to argue with a President. It soon became the brand’s slogan which launched the promotion of the Nation’s first blended coffee. In 1928, Postum (now General Foods) purchased Maxwell House's parent company, Cheek-Neal Coffee, for more than $40 million.
And that my friends, is my 2¢’s worth for today.

That's s good tag line if it still works today and who wouldn't agree" good to the last drop" stood the test of time.

Very cool Michael TeamCHI - Complete Home Inspections, Inc. I remember those old cans that took a "key" to open and the carpal tunnel you had by the time you were done opening one.

Good morning Michael. I remember the can, but that is the extent of it. Have only had two cups of coffee in my life, but not the case for my wife. She knows every coffee that ever existed.
