Austin Fly Over

By
Real Estate Agent with Juice RE Group at Compass Lic# 491811

Austin has come a long way in my 35 years of growing up with this city.  I've mentioned it before, but it's hard to believe Pennybacker Bridge, aka 360 Bridge over Lake Austin, was still under construction in 1981 when we moved here!  Think about what MOPAC might look like without that connection!

There have been a lot of aerial videos thanks to the evolution of drones these last few years.  This recent one floating around the internet seems to really capture why so many people are moving to Austin!  Some of the views over the new boardwalk that connects the hike and bike trail is something I've grown to really enjoy as an avid runner.  Running East to West from the Longhorn Dam offers some pretty amazing views.  The fly over Zilker Park makes me wonder if that will be our Central Park of Austin one day?

Enjoy the video, but more importantly get out and enjoy Austin!

Hello John, thanks for the great fly over, it is amazing how much Austin has grown since you moved here in 1981 and I moved here in 1989. I use to live in Tarrytown in a two bedroom home I rented for $675.00 monthly when the seller asked me to buy it for $130,000 I wasn't able and now look the price is around $700,000 but the home has since be renovated.......amazing, thanks for the video fly over. Give my best to Dorie Dillard

John- first a big apology... I thought I was following your blog, but discovered that I wasn't. That has now been rectified.  I haven't been to Austin in a few years, so this video was fun to watch.  And, thanks for your help with Sarah and Kaleb!

Endre, thanks for stopping and watching the video.  Lake Austin is a constant level 'lake', even though yes, it's technically the Colorado River.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Highland_Lakes

Hi John - Bob Ratliffe pointed your blog out to me, too. I've never visited Austin, but the video makes it look very appealing. And cranes everywhere, like in many cities.
