Are You Being Culled by Zillow?

I am a regular viewer of Frank and Brian's videos on The National Real Estate Post.

Today's video showed a  very intriguing interview Zillow Group CEO Spencer Rascoff did recently on CNBC. Spencer says Zillow is "culling" (ie intentionally reducing the number of agents) it does business with. He says they want to do business with the "best agents." You can believe him or not but the upshot was they are raising the costs to the remaining agents.

Here's the video from The National Real Estate Post which contains a portion of the interview with Spencer Rascoff.

Just curious. What has been your experience with Zillow?

What do you think of the comments Spencer Rascoff made on CNBC?

I'm not buying it ! They are all about the money . Without our listings they've got very little to offer a real estate agent !

Michael - I not buying it either. I think they'll take money from anyone. I think this was their spin on why fewer real estate agents are using the service.

Ha!  When I see who the "premier" agents are in my market area, I have no idea who some of them even are.  The best agents my foot.

In reality, they probably are raising their prices forcing only top producers in the marketplace to be able to afford them.  And those are the agents that may not even realize how worthless the leads are because they are too busy with legit leads they get themselves.

Chris Ann - I'm sure the definition of "premier" agents includes the fact that the credit card charge goes through each month. I was really surprised to see a CEO make those kind of statements on a national business TV show interview.

I opted out of paying to be a premier agent too, their  fees are too excessive .
