When David tells people that he is a home inspector everyone thinks that's great until perhaps they hear some of the stories that he tells.  One of his favorite sayings is "This Atlanta Home Inspector walks the roof" and he is not joking.  And that is what he did during an Alpharetta Home Inspection today.

Alpharetta Home Inspection

This is the house that David decided to get up on today and of course I am thinking, "David, are you crazy".  So many times as a home inspector you go places and do things that normal people don't even think about doing.  And of course while he was up there this is a couple of pictures that he took.

Of course he found several issues on the roof alone, below is a shingle tab missing, but there is no signs of leaking inside, probably because the roof is so steep the water doesn't have a chance to get inside.

And of course in the picture below you definitely have the birds eye view. Alpharetta Home Inspection

Now after seeing all this you can understand why all of the sudden I'm asking "Anyone here know where to get a good life insurance policy?"

Just so everyone knows, I'm kidding and I constantly pray for David, while he's on an inspection, simply because you never know what you'll get into.

Hopefully he is quite careful up there.  I am not sure our inspectors would go on a roof that steep.

I wasn't sure our inspetors did either, until today.  I was quite frantic, as this one is realy steep.  I can't watch when he goes on regular roofs, I don't care for heights at all.  Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I can see why you would ask this question.  But in all seriousness, a good life insurance policy is critical if you don't have one in place already.  My friend who recently died (also named David) had a decent policy which should come in handy now that he is gone, especially considering the six-figure medical bills from his cancer treatment.  Sorry to be a bummer on your fun post.  Just some food for thought.

I seldom get on roofs anymore, especially 2 story ones. The view is great, but I find that I do not bounce well anymore. I have a good pair of binoculars and a 500mm lens for my camera. I see all I need to see.

Bonnie,
I do hope you have life insurance for David, I agree with Jason it is an important part of your estate planning.

In regards to David on the roof, I can relate.  All my life I have seen my Dad (developer/contractor) on top of roofs and I've never gotten comfortable with that.  The worse is when the house is in the framing stages and he's up there.  BTW, he still gets up there much to my Mom and my despair!

Jason, Thanks for the info, and you'll be glad to know that we do have some  life insurance, a will, and funeral stuff, but I was thinking maybe the insurace should go up.  (JK) But yes, everyone needs to think bout these things and they don't need to wait until something happens, the time is now.

Michael, I understand completely, and told David so to, he still thinks he bounces well.  He doesn't have  great lens yet, but one day.....

Bonnie:  I don't blame you a bit for praying, I would be too.  I think it shows just how concientious David is when it comes to his inspections but I do hope he will be extra careful.

Hi Bonnie,  You should both life insurance.  Life insurance is income protection.  The best for most people is a level term policy.  Never let a buyer get suckered in to Buying Credit Life Insurance offered by a mortgage company or bank.  This is a decreasing term policy that is very expensive.  You also may want to consider a return of premium option which pays you ALL of your MONEY back if you go the full term of the policy without expiring.  If you want more info let me know.  I mainly do mortgages but also do life insurance because so many of my clients are not protected.
