Can you spare a thought?

Brain empty

Ok.....

I`ve had about enough of this mental block. I have searched my brain for something to blog about the past week or so, and I find myself coming up empty.

I had all these great ideas for blogs and when I would sit down to write....

NOTHING !!!

I am a bit frustrated to say the least.

So, I thought I might just ask of my friends in the Rain.....

What do you do when you come up against writers block?

Care to share a thought with me!

I need some roto rooter for my brain maybe.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.... I need some ideas!

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Susan

Blog about topics of interest in your area.  About your day.  About your thoughts.  A blog is just a journal about what you are thinking and what is going on in your day.  Just writh what's on your mind.

Susan - sometime you have to look where you would least likely find. if you get a chance go read one of my last blogs (finding riches in the rubble), get the point. don't let it bother you, it'll come on its own.

Perhaps you could write an entry for our song contest.  Choose any song from a movie and write why you like it.

Susan, I would be more than happy to do so.  Wait, I just forgot what I was about to tell you, lol.  I've been there and going through it now.  It will all come back to you.

Susan,

WHat are you angry about? What makes you furious? THink what you do not like, what you think whoudl be done, how the things should be done, and you have an idea for the post.

Go through the posts on AR, and note what touches you the most, either you agree, and you would like to extend a dn elaborate, or what you disagree. These are the ideas as well.

Look at a couple of groups that interest you -- often I get an idea for a blog when I read some else's blog!  Good luck

I always seem to find a funny story in my day.  Maybe it's just me but I always seem to have a blonde moment or two that might make someone laugh.  I also like to blog about things close to my heart - charities or things I'm involved in.

I always have something.  Alot of times its inspired from God...other times it is what happened to me today.

Write about Jerry Seinfeld.  This is very seinfeld-esque.  Other than that, whether with real estate or not, write about something you're passionate about.

Susan - Keep it simple blog about things that interest you, what's happening in the community, market reports, spring - some of the unique things about your area.   I could go on and on.  My problem is I just don't have enough time, the brain is alway going just the body can't keep up.

Looking forward to your next blog, there is a story just around the corner.

Hey Susan I think reading blogs is a great idea for generating thoughts. When you read you think and that gives you an opinion and don't just comment, blog about your response. Whenther it's a book or blog reading keeps me fresh

Gary: I think I may be afraid to write whats on mind this past week. I have been in a kind of weird place.

Peter: Thanks for the invite to your blog! I will definately give it a read.

Jason: I am a bit intimidated when it comes to the challenges. I read Lenzas post and felt like what`s the point!!! In a good a way. I love his writing!

Ray: I always knew you were a bit of an air head like me!

Bo: Thank you so much for that link. That is a great resource! Kudos!!

Jon: If I went off on those tangents, I am afraid I would expose a side of me that people would not find attractive! I wouldnt mind finding a way to do that but with a sense of humor. Have to work on that still.

Joan: I have been trying that the past few days and would get stuck on the little voisce in my head telling me my stuff wasnt original. Need to thank the voice for sharing and just write!

Larry: Love Seinfeld. Great idea!

Tammy: That is a great piece of advice for every day not just blogging. I think I will add that to my daily goals. Find the humor in at least one thing! Thanks!

Chuck: I had a huge God moment today but I dont feel I could share it. It is very deep. But, after thinking on it for a second, I think I could find something about it that I could share without giving it too much personal meaning. I sometimes think people would not understand where I might be coming from. I need to give that though up as well. Man... I really have some stinkin thinkin going on!

Jennifer: I think that may be part of my problem as well. I have been waiting until later at night to get on AR and by the time I get an idea, I am too tired to exercize my brain and fingers at the same time!

Ross: I think I do a lot of that. By the time I read and get an idea, I am too tired to write! I just need to get started a bit earlier maybe!!!!

Thanks so much guys!!!! These are great ideas!

Susan

Don't feel intimidated.  Keep in mind that I am one of the three judges.  Also, there are SIX spots available for winners.  Additionally, you get bonus points just for entering.  No big deal - just food for thought.

Jason: Thanks for the info. I guess I will give it a try! I have to admit it was fun doing "My 1st concert" brought back a lot of memories.

SUSAN - I find that the easiest thing to blog about is life and experiences.  Don't think real estate if you're getting bogged down.  Talk about anything that is on your mind.  A great way around it is to do localism posts.  They can be factual, and they don't rely on you to be inspired to talk about a subject.  Telling people what is going on in your area might not sound like exciting writing, but it serves a purpose.  The rest will come.  Good luck.  Congrats on passing your test by the way.

Hi Susan..... you have just proved that you don't have to blog about anything to get a response.

have Fun,

Alan

Susan, There are times when I can think of absolutely nothing to blog about and other times I have a zillion ideas in my head. Don't think about it and the ideas will come. I would suggest picking a place, restauarant, sports facility, craft shop, bookstore, anything in your immediated neighborhood, take some photos, research it, interview the people and do a localism blog. Once you get used to doing the Localism blogs (which will also get your name out there for specific areas), then the ideas will come.Good Luck

When you are thinking of a dozen things to write, do several blogs in Draft and release them one day at a time.  Draft is great!  That takes care of mental block on a day when you'd like to write.

Susan,

Sometimes I just keep commenting on other blogs until I think of something, and it usually works!

Hi Susan, I see you are a Realtor and a loan officer. Why not write about how you balance that out. Do you ever find it a conflict of interest? You have two fields you can write about. I admit I have the same issue sometimes with figuring out what to talk about. I hope it breaks loose for you soon.
