Some people claim there is no place safe in America.

Link shares NOT SAFE CITIES TO LIVE IN AMERICA.

Everyone should bear arms to defend him selves. Even small rural American towns can have crazy people shoot at others. That is not necessarily true.

To find out which cities are the safest, researchers establish a list of all American cities with a population above 250,000. Then we ranked each city on the number of violent crimes per 100,000 residents using recent FBI data. Traffic fatalities matters with data coming from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Year to year cities names do change but recent demographics do not affect to a greater extend.

  • San Francisco Bay Area is a safer Heaven
  •  Three Bay Area cities rank among the top 10 safest, led by Sunnyvale at number one. In general, cities in the Bay Area have low violent crimes. Homicides are uncommon. There are fairly low rates of deadly traffic accidents.
  • 1. Sunnyvale, CA

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale rates as the safest city in America. The violent crime rate in the city is well below average, but that’s not the only reason Sunnyvale is safe. It is located in NW Santa Clara County. The mortality accidentak rate is less than a 1/3rd of the nationala verage. It also has one of the lowest rates of drug use of any county in the country. This is where there are a lot of high technology companies employ highly talented technocrats and they do go through the drug screening to get hired. Rent and housing is high so low income unstable people tend to live else where.

  • 6. San Jose, CA- Of the three largest cities in the Bay Area, San Jose rates as the safer by a fairly wide margin. Both Oakland and San Francisco cities have violent crime rates well above the rate in San Jose. Both cities also have higher rates of drug use. While there are just 7 drug poisoning deaths per 100,000 residents annually in the San Jose area, there are more than 20 in San Francisco and more than 10 in the Oakland area(i.e. 3X or 1.5X than San Jose). San Jose city is often called Silicon Valley with many high technology companies. San Jose has the highest median household income well over $94,000 per year. But there are also lower income residents in this 1,000,000+ resident city. It also has a combined public tranportation system.

  • 8. Fremont, CA- Fremont is located north of San Jose along the southeastern shore of the San Francisco Bay in Alameda County. The City is fairly new and it has one of the lowest rates of vehicular mortality of any county in the U.S. at just 5.88 per 100,000 residents. That is about less than 1/3 of the national average. Fremont has low unemployment rate (3.5%) and higher household income close to $100,000.

  • Northern Texas Small cities are also safer

    7. McAllen, TX- In Rio Grande Valley close to the border, city has in recent years created as call centers of America.  The city is located in the Rio Grande Valley just north of Reynosa, Mexico. It has one of the lowest crime rates of any city in America, with 122 violent crimes per 100,000 residents. In fact, there were just two murders in all of McAllen in 2013.

    10. Frisco, TX- Frisco is a city of 145,000 residents located about 30 miles north of Dallas. It has the fourth-lowest violent crime rate of any major U.S. city with just 800 violent crimes per 1 M. Income matters as average household income is over $100K a year. As a new fastest growing small town it attracts many well educated and high income families.

    2. Honolulu, HI- Island living is safe living. Honolulu has a low violent crime rate of just 2,300 per 1M residents annually. Residents of the city also stay safe by staying out of their cars,12% take public transportation to work. Another 11% either walk or ride a bike. No one serfs to work thought. Rest 56% drive to work alone.  It is a safe and more lay back city known for its friendly atmosphere and tourism.

    3. Bellevue, WA Located across Lake Washington from Seattle. Bellevue has grown rapidly in recent years, adding 14,000 new residents last four years. That equals an annual population growth rate of 2.7%, among the highest in the U.S.  It is home to a lot high technology and aircraft manufacturer (e.g. Microsoft, Boeing, Active Rain-just kidding).

  • 9. Salem, OR

Residents of Salem, on the other hand, breathe some of the cleanest air to be found in any U.S. city. The Oregon capital has the third lowest air pollution of any major U.S. city, according to the EPA air quality index.

    4. Cary, NC

The violent crime rate in Cary is the sixth lowest of any major U.S. city, at just 840 violent crimes per 1M residents. Compare that to Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina, where the violent crime rate is 6480 per 1M.

    5. Alexandria, VA

Located along the Potomac River just miles from Washington, D.C., Alexandria rates as the fifth safest city in America. While many of the city’s residents work in D.C., just 57% of the city’s residents get to work by driving alone, the 14th lowest rate of any U.S. city. Many people take train to avoid having cars and theft.

The Northeast rates poorly- Using same criteria there are no cities in NE US gets on the safe list. Obsolence, dated or cities with manufacturing often shows on the list as the employment declines.  When people are busy making big bucks they do not have time to think about haterism or even express it.  This is why newer cities with well paid jobs are safer.  The college towns may fit in safe, friendly towns but they do not have more than 250,000 residents.
