As I write this blog, I’m working for something I believe in. I am in Carbondale, Illinois visiting with my younger daughter and her two daughters. Sarah’s husband is on a business trip, Sarah recently had surgery, and I am here doing what I love most – being her Mom and their Nana. The second thing I love most is teaching real estate.
Working for something I believe in is so much easier in today’s technology! I no longer practice real estate. Instead, God gave me the most wonderful gift of being able to teach what I know to others who don’t yet know it. With my trusty laptop I can continue to blog, I can work on courses that need attention, I can email back and forth with students, former students and prospective students.
Working for something I believe in doesn’t have to take a vacation just because I am not sitting in front of the school computer in Florida. With Bob holding down the fort there, I can work no matter where I am. I love that about our business. I love our students, and I love their enthusiasm. Their energy is contagious and it makes me feel awesome!
I will be in Illinois another week or so, but the beat of our school doesn’t stop. When someone calls, I answer. Little do they know that there may be a 5-year old or a 3-year old trying to get my attention; they haven’t a clue that Sarah and I may be in the middle of a “Boggle” game; and they certainly don’t realize that I haven’t worn make-up in days!
If you want to practice real estate, all you have to do is ask. I will gladly guide you through the process. Practicing real estate will give you the opportunity to work for something you believe in. No longer will you be tied to a 9 to 5 job; no longer will you answer to a supervisor of has no compassion for your situation; and no longer will you have to work someone else’s hours. Practicing real estate will allow you financial freedom, freedom to set your own hours, and once you’ve established yourself in the industry, you will be able to work for something you believe in no matter where you are. Technology will become one of your best friends!
