How to Change Your Garage Keyless Entry Pad

By
Real Estate Agent with Aspen Lane Real Estate Colorful Colorado CRE# 40005863

You've purchased a new home and you forgot to acquire the secret PIN code from the seller for the keyless entry pad of your garage door.  They are now on the other side of the country and you are stuck.

No worries.  You can change your keyless entry without having the original code!

I am sharing a video from Jacob Swenson of Specialized Garage Doors where he shows us how to change that PIN to something unique for us.

This is a great tip. I always ask for the code when a house transfers, but it's a good idea to change the code after closing, just like rekeying your doors

That was very popular about 20 years ago in Korea. Apparently Samsung had developed more modern housing technology way earlier than the US.

Some houses have similar capabilities. However, when the battery is running low you need to know what to do.  Same with Nest thermostat which costs $100 to get a service guy and $2 for a battery replacement.....

Good evening Belinda Spillman ,

I too always ask for the code when a home transfers. It's like re-keying the doors..a prudent choice!
