About Camp Tiger

Camp Tiger is a longstanding LSUHSC New Orleans School of Medicine legacy that the first year medical students have the honor of carrying on.

Camp Tiger is a week-long day camp for children with special needs in the Greater New Orleans area and have been offering this opportunity to the community for the past 30 summers.

Past campers have visited the zoo and aquarium, played at the Saints practice arena, explored City Park, and gone on safaris at the Global Wildlife Center.

Camp Tiger is staffed by rising second-year and incoming first-year medical students of the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.

For the past thirty summers, these future doctors have thoroughly enjoyed spending their first week of summer with such amazing campers.

There is a 2:1 counselor-camper ratio to ensure campers’ safety and satisfaction. Campers and counselors form a close bond over the week and make memories that both will surely treasure.

Camp Tiger Benefit & Auction

The camp is an entirely Student run class project and made possible by donations and Auctions to raise money to carry on this amazing Camp.

The annual Camp Tiger Benefit & Auction is the largest fundraising source for Camp Tiger.

The event features a Silent and Live Auction with items procured by the Class of 2019, including vacations, autographed sports memorabilia, artwork, jewelry, and much more.

Guests from across Louisiana will enjoy the sounds of local music with food and beverages from New Orleans restaurants, both traditional favorites and new hotspots.
