Rain, Rain Go Away Please come back another Day?

Growing up in the Bay Area, one hour north of San Francisco, in good old Sonoma County we faced rain quite often. In fact there were times that it would Rain for weeks at a time. The Rain was so frustrating because it kept children like me stuck in the house. It kept the children from their very nature, to be Active. The Rain would come down outside and flood the tracks that I had made for my hot wheels, wash away the castles I had built for my He-man, destroy my marble fields and ruin the forts that I had built with some of my best friends. We found ourself singing the popular tune Rain, Rain go away please come back another day much to the chagrin of my mother.

Fast Forward twenty plus years and I am adult with my own kids that are disappointed when the Rain comes down outside. I never thought growing up I would ever find that tune a little annoying. In fact I never thought that I would sing the tune with a different tone and meaning. I find myself at the computer typing on the Active Rain community with friends. I have found colleagues and read many great articles about my very livelihood. I have found the information center that keeps giving back. Every morning I wake up I think to myself, "Rain, Rain come my way, I can't wait to give back another day." The Rain has given me a platform to give back to the industry that I have chosen as a career. It has allowed me to share with others the castles that I had built, the marble fields, the tracks, and play in the forts that we are all building.

At night before I go to bed I find myself asking that I get another hour on the Active Rain website. I ask that in the hour I am able to reach and effectively help others to grow the very business that we all know and love. Yes the market is frustrating at times, we face challenges that are new and unique. That is what I love about the Rain. We are showered each day with Real life Information faster than it could ever be printed in a book. We are able to help those who are experiencing something we may have already faced. We get to predict and mold the future at the very same time.

Twenty Years later I realize that I had spent much of my childhood asking the Rain to go away and come back another day. The Rain has come back. It is back stronger than ever. It has come back in such a way that I long for my time to blog. I long for the time that I figure out how to be more effective in my marketing, educating, and networking. I just wanted to say to the Active Rain community Thank you. The Rain that used to keep me from my friends is the very Rain that is helping me to propel my career, further my education and build many relationships with those that have similar interests.

Keep Raining, Keep Selling, Keep Buying, Keep Educating. You are the very Rain that the economy and industry need. Thank you Active Rain for ruining my day. If I could have went outside I would not have jumped on the computer and found you...........

As always thank you for Reading.

Matt - this is great:)  It is sunny in Seattle today (at least right now), but I am still playing in the Rain - keep it up!
