We don't have a ton of homes in the Metro Atlanta area with turrets or towers, but there are some in the older parts of the city. Would you know the difference between the two? If you are leaning out of a window, tossing your golden locks to the ground in hopes some knight will climb to your rescue, you may be in a tower. Or drinking too much.
The difference between the tower and a turret? The turret juts out from the house. It does not go all the way to the ground. Its a bit like what you might see in a castle wall.
Each of these types of features likely show up in Victorian style homes, with all the fancy mill work that goes along with it. So, the next time you pass by a home with one of these features you may now explain confidently the difference between a turret and a tower!
