Easter Confetti Eggs
When I was a little girl we would spend hours cutting Yellow and Green Wrigley's Gum wrappers into tiny pieces. The pieces had to be small enough to sift thorough a shifter!
All year long we would save egg shells from breakfast. We would wash them and then nearing Easter time we would use food coloring to color the egg shells into a variety of colors. With our allowance we would buy colorful tissue paper to glue onto the open egg shell holes so that the confetti could not spill out of the eggs once filled. It was so much fun and would keep us entertained for hours.
If you are going to make confetti eggs you need to start today to have enough time to construct them.
These days I go to WalMart and buy dozens at a time to have for my adult children, husband and great grandchildren to have to smash on the heads of everyone participating; willing or not. Their hair and shoulders fill with the colorful confetti and it completely litters the ground. This confetti is not as small as I use to make but I remember how it use to be. Those are fond memories.
I know we will have a wonder Easter this year. I look forward to making Easter Dinner for the family and friends who will come to eat.
