Yesterday, I got an email from a past customer.  He is from 4 years ago, and he is super nice and has great taste.  His email was prompted by our monthly newsletter.

 

carpet for stamford CTWhile we have been extremely busy, I was lucky as one of my appointments was shifted to next week and I had a free opening and drove over to Stamford.  My customer is so nice, and he was showing me all the improvements he made to his home over the last 4 years.  It was fun.  Last time, we did carpet for the first floor of his townhouse.  This time, we are doing carpet for the 2nd floor and landings.

 

We also discussed 2 future projects for the bathrooms. 

 

As we chatted, he asked me about our TV shows (from a year or two ago) and he was aware of us winning the Angie's List Super Service award again.  He said, he's kept up and he was so happy to see our success over the last 4-5 years.

 

It made me realize how important these newsletters are in generating more repeat and referral business.  Earlier in the week, I got an email from another "lead"...someone we I met  3-4 years ago but never closed.  They have a rental unit and are interested in some sanding and refinishing and hardwood, so I have an appt set for next Saturday.  I definitely have challenges keeping up with everything, and I'm lucky that my franchise took over this a year and half ago.  Their newsletters aren't as good as mine (of course...LOL), but they are good enough and I have an option to add in an intro paragraph each month, and that is more manageable for me.

 

And, it's working!  Every month, I seem to get at least 2 new appointments due to the newletter (and often 3-4), and often this helps prompt a customer to purchase.  I've gotten a few people who are now ready from 1-2 yrs ago.  So, if you aren't yet doing a newsletter, I'd recommend you reconsider.

I've been sending out a monthly newsletter since 2002 and still today have some "charter members" on the list.  Clients call me to help them sell even ten years after they bought the house with me.  Who remembers their agent ten years later?  My clients do!  I make sure of it!
