Tacos

 

Today is Taco Tuesday!

 

We are Texans, so it stands to reason we love tacos. There are many kinds of tacos. In our area you can order breakfast, lunch, and dinner tacos at any sit down restaurant. Additionally, you can go through any fast food establishment and buy a variety of breakfast tacos. It is a big money maker.

 

My aunt made 300 tacos each morning and sent them to the oil fields to be sold at a dollar each. She sold out daily and made $1,500 weekly. It was enough money to support the family while they were unemployed.

 

I make killer chicken tacos and they are pretty much my favorite.  Coming up fast behind chicken tacos are fish tacos... those are so good too!

My South American former employee left for Miami. He got into taco business and found the Latinos there are Cubans who do not eat tacos-sandwich mostly. It would take him to sell 2,200 tacos to break it even because of his overhead.  I took him back to Silicon Valley.

He learned an important lesson. Not a Hispanics are made alike. French food is really different from food made in England....yet they are geographically in the same location.

It is a fast money maker. If you are a good cook even more so. She even started making tamales out of her home. She sold them by the dozen and only by order. She made big cash that way too. Hers were good but my mothers and mine beat hers!

The first time I was offered fish tacos I was aghast. I thought I would get sick but I did not want to offend the hostess and ate them. My goodness imagine my surprise! Now I want them all the time.
