Wait A Minute, Do We Need Three Couches In The Maine Home Living Room?

By

The mission to tidy up the living space becomes critically important when the time for a sale of a Maine home is clearly spelled out, shows up in the tea leaves.

When an elderly couple who have called the house home for a long long time, throw in the towel and wave the white flag. Surrendering the use of the roost as the Maine home for many moons.

The furniture inside the Maine home, racked and stacked in the place can really pile up. Making it like that little square handheld game without the batteries. Where you only have one space to move to create a path to keep going to win the game.maine up on mt katahdin photo

Why all the couches hanging around that arrive each ten years?

Because the Maine home owners brought up during the depression years of don't waste anything or throw it out.

And we might need that second, third and more couches Mabel or Bertha.

That get pushed deeper into the living room to make way as one by one the extras arrive on the scene in the Maine home. Where do we go from here? With the easy does it squeeze to get through a cluttered, over stocked with furniture Maine home. To just make careful detailed notes on the real estate clipboard in the initial looksie of the property listing.

Not just too many couches to wrestle with in the market. Same with the outdoor shrubs that slowly hide and diminish the curb appeal of the Maine home.

Those little gum drop cedars planted back in the 1980's are now out of control and not helping the odds of a real estate sale. All racing, heading skyward in a straggly unkempt sort of way. Masking the true beauty of what once was a pretty attractive property that has been let go. The job jar runneth over in other neglected areas too in the Maine home that will need to be brought up right up front. To spell out what has happened and how it will hurt not help the Maine home sale. welcome to maine photo

But doctor's appointments, their kids being eighteen states away, plain old lack of funds and just no more ambition deep down inside.

The fire in their belly has gone out and is long cold.

Can make it a challenge. To assess what we have to work with and to make the most of what we can.

You can always make it better than it was if a helper as the service provider wearing the blue and gold "R", the hardest working letter in all the alphabet.

Telling, spilling the beans during the Maine home listing process to describe the pros and cons of what we have here. And what needs to happen to tighten up the place. It is a mind field of emotions unleashed if care and consideration is not used in the heart to heart discussion.

Real estate candor helps with the condition and the pricing if you really expect to help the Maine home property owner get from listing to closing. So can years of experience in dealing with situations in real estate Maine home sales just like this one. So after planting the silent real estate salesman and heading back to the office to hunt and peck, upload the images and render the video to start the marketing music, I think about what is the best approach. brownie in a can photo

What ingredients need to be in the mix to market the Maine home best.  More than being a wordsmith or savvy with the cameras.

Media manager, like a marketing exec, lots goes in to the job today of listing, peddling properties.

As the jeep backs out of the driveway at the new Maine home property listing and gets thrown into drive. To scurry, beat feet onto the next step in the list, market, sell (repeat).

After the Maine home listing goes under contract and while waiting for the clear to close memo.

There is a lot of work in the preparation. For the sit down and pass the Maine home house keys please. And everyone in the conference room all rise, smile, shake hands and reach for their hat and coats preparing to head out in different directions to get on with their next life chapter.

I wasn't brought up in the depression but being the youngest of 4 you get much the same mentality from inheriting hand-me-downs... use it till it's wore out Andrew Mooers . I'm not a hoarder but I will keep things until they are useless so I can identify with this couple.

Man, you're really getting at the meat of the work we do as Real Estate Brokers Andrew.  To be a guide and counselor isn't discussed in all that real estate recruiting marketing you see everywhere, but that's truly what we do.  And sometimes that guidance is to just let it go....  Easier said than done, we all know.

Buying and selling a home are intensely emotional experiences that bring a lot of unfinished "stuff" to the surface for people.  Got to clear that out before they can clear the house out.

Bob "RealMan" Timm ... Was youngest of four too and know what a poor Maine potato year feels like... don't like lots of debt or sleepless nights.

Marie Haydock ... Real estate does not sell itself. You need a navigator to see the dots, connect them. We are more matchmakers than salesman and start by listening to learn how we can help them... this particular buyer or seller one at a time. No two the same but there are familiar patterns and you see the groove, pathway each needs help to be on for a smooth, fun, beneficial experience for them. All about them in the service, can I help you being the little red hen.

I've been in that position many many times...breaking the news to sellers of just how much work they have ahead of them is never easy. It's all in the delivery.  A delivery that must be handled gently and with compassion.
