I can't believe some of those price drops.  I thought our small corrections were a big deal. WOW...

Melina.  Thanks.  I should have gone back another year and you'd really be shocked, but it's finally time for buyers to get off the fence.

Katerina.  Thanks.  When I started adding maps to my web pages, I didn't forsee ActiveRain.  But, here I am and there they are for me to use.

Lenn,

It seems in some cities the prices compared to the year before aren't that much different but in the others there seems to be a bigger drop..why is that?

Neal.  One theory is that the counties farthest away have experienced the fastest reduction in home prices.

Arlington County is the closest to DC (jobs) and has lots of METRO access.  I believe that gas prices are impacting the out counties sales.

Of course, it's just a theory.

Terry.  We're down far enough for first time home buyers, but move up buyers aren't out yet.  Can't sell their overpriced contingency.
