I am finishing up a Real Estate transaction that was similar to a roller coaster ride only it had more ups and downs and went on for weeks until it stopped and let everyone get off. Whew! It is prudent to point out that Real Estate in and of itself is relatively easy if handled right. In the handling, I recommend not only using professionals, but objective ones. Read on ...
NO TWO ALIKE
Every Real Estate transaction is different as is every home, condo or investment property offered for sale. Even when it appears that there are identical homes or property they can never be. Why? The sun, the wind and the unit themselves are all different right down to the nails in the wood and the soil upon which they sit. The point? All while similar are unique. Takes experience to sort it all out
PEOPLE PROBLEMS
Most of the time, problems surface between the parties not the property. It is not like either one gets up and plans to make something difficult. NO. It is human nature driven by emotions in this high stakes arena of buying and selling that requires the work and the problem solving. It unleashes what is in you!
STAY FROSTY
Objectivity is not given enough credit. Professional handling of problem solving is underrated as well. Not everyone is equipped to solve an issue let alone fend off its attack. Often, clients vent, curse, and over-react when their way or their outcome falls short. I get it. But they wont get it if they persist in this
ONE LITTLE THING
Have you heard it said that the war was lost for the loss of a nail? The story goes that the General, leading the charge on horseback, fell because the horse threw a shoe from a missing or faulty shoe nail. When the General went down, morale went with him and the army retreated. Battle lost because of a thrown shoe...
ALMOST THERE
Well, I had it come right down to about a fifty dollar repair. The seller says, no more. Not one more thing. I am not doing it. They (the buyers & agent) are just trying to get all they can (not true). Buyer says, it is a safety issue, please get it done. That's all we want. Impasse in place. Parties adamant
LISTING AGENT 911...what is your emergency?
Well Real Estate Agent to rescue! Yes, we (?) will get it done no problem. To the Sellers: Thank you for helping us get this far. To the Buyer, lets wrap it up. To all. Lets head for the promised land with no stops okay? Seller is getting a nice equity check, buyer a beautiful home, and agents get paid with the exception of the listing agent being out $50.00 but who's complaining?
NEVER GIVE UP
Everyone reaches their subjective limit. Endurance is personal and varies on so many levels. When one calls it quits, for whatever reason, that is within their power to do so. But here is a wonderful thing. The answer to all problems is always there. Yes, this is true. Don't be confused about liking it either
I HAVE A REMEDY
Like any problem that rears its ugly head real or imagined in the moment, I always apply the following thought process and get a laugh out of it as well as satisfaction too. This will work for you as it has always worked for me. Allow me to share.
IMAGINE THIS
Fast forward the problem, whatever it is, into the future. Most of them, the majority, don't amount to a hill of beans, heck even a bean. Doesn't even show up anymore on the life radar. So much for the supposed crisis blowing itself up and begging for attention. Time travel applied says its petty
LET'S FINISH IT
Everyone has their breaking point but that is self-imposed as well. If one doesn't have an emotional connection, there is no point to break only a deal to break. If it is a deal, it can be tweaked, negotiated or dismissed but never out of reaction. In other words, finish what was started or why start it to begin with?
THE FAMOUS STRAW
I am reminded of the famous cliche and quote that is used and appreciated by everyone. It involves the CAMEL and his pack and how the Camel tender over-loaded the beast. It showed no weakening until this very last straw was added where upon the beast of burden, judged it too much, and collapsed
MAKE IT A SNACK?
Instead, consider how much different this would have turned out if the Camel driver fed the straw to the hungry Camel instead. That Camel would follow you anywhere. That's the main point isn't it?
