Tip of the day: Keep a Diary!

By
Real Estate Agent with President, Newtown Board of Realtors RES.0797458

I'm not referring to an actual diary... But if the shoe fits!

Through my experience working as a real estate agent, I have found that if you're not keeping track of your every move, then it never happened!  Say I have a phone call with a potential client Mike.  He calls me inquiring about my previously listed single family home in the cozy town of Naugatuck.  So a few things probably happened during this phone call;  I probably earned what Mike did or did not like about the house.  I also probably learned if he wants to meet for a showing of the house and I will then have a good understanding of what Mike and his wife are looking for in a home.  Once I hang up the phone, if I don't record all of the information that was exchanged during the call, it didn't happen!  Most likely because I'll forget.  Knowing what your client is looking for is of huge importance in this business.. so taking 30 seconds to document a phone call is worth it in the long-run.

Here's a website with more tips for agents that I've found to be helpful!

Good morning David. This is so important. You can make notes anywhere and should. I used Top Producer but before that paper notes in a filing system. People are taken with those who remember conversations.
