I LOVE my PALM TX * Palm software for property management !!!

By
Property Manager with Gibson Management Group, Ltd.

Having used PALM software through 7 years and 3 devices, in addition to category contacts for OWNERS, BUSINESS/VENDORS, TENANTS, I also have PROPERTY information as a catetory with the directions to the properties AND a photo of the property exterior.  This information is helpful giving directions to prospects when arranging viewing appointments ESPECIALLY when the property is new construction where GPS may not be helpful AND when providing directions to vendors/repairmen.

Don't be afraid to define your own CATEGORY * I have for my lockbox HASP codes as well as sign/lockbox placement on my properties.

I just use a blackberry for my schedule and contacts.  It sincs with my laptop Outlook and that is great.  Tenants can map our properties off of our website and we give verbal directions on our hotline info for each property.  That seems to take care of most of them.

Google and Yahoo maps for rural properties or new subdivisions are very inaccurate.....so I e-mail prospects GOOD directions prior to appts that I just copy and paste from my PROPERTY category in my PalmTX which syncs with my laptops at home and the office.

I started e-mailing directions to properties after the security patrol in a gated communmity brought the husband of a prospect couple to the property because his GPS brought him in through a back/unattended gate to the community and his cel phone would not work to reach his wife standing beside me at the property....I know it's a "guy thing"; however, I find if I get the directions into the wife's hands, they usually show up on time and at the correct property.

I love using my categories on my Palm too.  I sync my outlook and palm often (should be daily).  I also post directions on the listings to make things easy along with the map on my site.  Mapquest has sent me to roads that don't exist. My GPS has taken my down road that look like something out of Lord of the Rings (during the day at that).
