Why I love Pike County!

Because people say, "I'm from Pike County" when asked hometown. Even though several towns exist in Pike, we are still small enough to have one primary, elementary, middle and high school. We are great test scores which reflects the teacher and parebts dedication to the next generation. People go to local youth sports and it is often the way we meet and get to know people in our community. Regardless of religion, church is often an important part of citizens lives. People say, "Hey" and make eye contact with you even if you do not know them. The newspaper does have news (it only comes out on Wednesday), but is often filled with human interest stories. Why? Call Sherrif Jimmy Thomas' Office and get crime statistics.

If you grew up in a community where people knew you and you felt like you belonged, maybe you need to come to Pike County, GA, too!
