It seems like everyday you turn on the television you hear depressing news. This issue I want to bring some GOOD news to you, for a change. As you all know, the Real Estate market is not the best we have ever had. The days of 100 percent financing is over, no more sub prime mortgages, and banks have tightened up on the lending practices. I personally feel like it is about time that they did that. People need to have more PRIDE in their new home. The good news is that it is still a great time to purchase a new home. Interest rates are still low, builders are offering some great incentives. Some builders are lowering the prices of homes, but most are offering rate buy downs, more closing costs to make it easier for a new home buyer to purchase a home. For people who are trying to sell their home, they too are offering more closing costs and other incentives like a free home warranty. So, future buyers who are on the fence about purchasing a new property, no time is better! If you know people who are waiting for the interest rates to drop, well I do have some inside advice from a local mortgage broker. She stated, "If people do not start to purchase real property, the mortgage interest rates will remain stagnant, and even go up." Even though the federal government is lowering the rate, my friends, that usually does NOT affect the mortgage interest rates. It usually helps the interest rates on credit cards or student loans. We are very lucky to live in North Carolina as our economy is still strong and not stagnant like other parts of the US.
