CONTESTS: BEST LOGO WINS

By
Mortgage and Lending with Mortgage Financial Group, Inc (NMLS 219650) NMLS #359029

About 1-2 weeks ago, I asked for some help on designing a logo for 2 Average Joes Golf (2AJG).  The only logo that was submitted was mine posted as a joke.  So, I have decided to up the ante on getting some logo designs.  We have the website up and running, the review platform has been put in place, and we still are missing a logo.

RULES:

Submit a logoin the comments section that you think will best describe 2AJG.  Keep in mind that the logo will also be used for promotional items, so it will have to be some what simple and small.

That's it!

The winner will be announced here on Active Rain and on http://www.2averagejoesgolf.com/.

PRIZE: The winning logo designer will receive a free NIKE golf polo shirt (winner pick's the color - provided the color is available) with the logo that they created on it. NIKE SHIRT HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH TOMMY BAHAMA SHIRT.  THE OPTIONS FOR SHIRT CHOICE WILL BE EMAILED TO THE WINNER TO CHOOSE PATTERN/COLOR.

What the heck, here is a second contest:

We need golf reviews written from the point of view of the average golfer.

RULES:

Submit an original review of a local golf course.  Include with the submission: several photos of the course (must be originals and not copies off of a website), a bio of the Average Joe(s) that played the course (very simple... 2-5 sentences describing yourself as an Average Joe), and a pictureof the Average Joe(s) to go with the bios.  Submissions can be uploaded on AR (need to be uploaded to the 19th Hole group), but  also need to be emailed to mailto:golf@2avergagejoesgolf.com.

PRIZE: The first 5 people to submit a review of a local golf course for their area will get a baseball/golf cap with the 2AJG logo.  They will also receive a link directing viewers back to their website.

George,

It won't be a cheap shirt... it will be probably close to a $100 shirt.  Maybe I will make it a Tommy Bahama shirt... that actually sounds better.  Keeps to the theme of Average Joes, laid back and taking it easy.  And I was serious about adding a mini-golf course review section on the site if you want to do it.  And yes, that would qualify you for the 2nd contest.

Jay,

I fixed the problem with the email.  It should work now, so you send along the short bio and pic that you want posted of you.

Okay, I'll take a stab at it.

What do you want? Humorous? Classy? Colorful?

Nah, I'll just come up with something I like!

Jay,

Your post has been uploaded to the site... go to http://2averagejoesgolf.com/. Click on course reviews and follow the links to your post.  I will post your bio(s) and photo(s) under the post.  Link back to your website has been attached to your name.  (Let me know if the NH shows up green on the map.  Marc said it does not show up his, but it is showing green on mine).

Jason,

I messed around with 3 different ideas. The looked good but, it's very hard to design something that lends itself well to both a print logo and a web logo.

This is the one I like best. It has sharp contrast and would look good both as a jacket or cap logo and as a website theme. If you click on the graphic it will take you to a mock up site so you can see what I mean. A website also looks very clean with an all black background.

Mark,

I like it a lot.  So far you have an obvious lead on the competition.  I still have to wait till the deadline before the final decision is made.

Jay,

Would you like this on your hat?

Mark,

If you win, would you like this on the shirt?

Oh, there's a shirt? lol

Cool.

I'm still fiddling around with ideas. Don't spend money on a shirt if you're only getting one. Too expensive. I appreciate the offer though.

Not bad, It's tough to decide with seeing only one logo. I'll try and work on something this week.

Mark,

I got connections that can do shirts by the piece... it won't be too expensive.  I just have to pay to have it digitized and then it is about $5-10/piece (depends on # of stitches).

Adobe is offering 30 day trials on their products, so I am taking advantage of Photoshop.  Here is my first idea... fun, comical and keeps in mind the Average Joe mentality.
