It has recently been reported that housing prices are on the rise nationally.   Some people feel that this means we are looking at another housing bubble in the making. Thankfully this is simply not true. The biggest reason for the increase in housing prices is based on supply and demand.  Supply and demand is a basic and simple economic concept stating that the less there is of something, the more expensive it will be. Absolutely no magic potion or fancy dealings, just simply how much is available.  On average right now more families looking for housing than there is housing available.

Housing inventory impact

According to the recent Existing Home Sales Report from The National Association of Realtors, there is currently a four month inventory supply.  This means we are currently in the "blue" section of the illustration.
