Assyphalitis…avoid catching it!
Pronounced...Ass-if-a-lite-us. Sounds rather toxic to me.
This contagion has swept a majority of the social media world. Things are said now that people would never dream of putting out for public scrutiny in the past. I guess one reason may be the ease of hiding behind a keyboard with a certain amount of anonymity.
There is a cure-all, however, you can resist participating in these online conversations. Just as a Real Estate Purchase Contract is a legal and binding document, what you write for public use can also be taken to a legal level. Especially when making false, reckless or threatening statements.
Don't get me wrong. We all have the right to vent or have a strong discussion regarding subjects we are passionate about as long as reasonable care and professionalism is at the forefront. After all, we have emotions and a desire to allow ourselves be heard by others.
Proceed with Caution: Refuse to allow Assyphalitis to be the potential death of your career, drive a wedge or destroy personal and professional relationships. It's up to you, it truly is!
