Hey all - I have a great marketing idea that I want to share.  I work with a locally owned real estate company in Naples, so I hooked up with another locally owned business, a great restaurant here, Remy's Bistro.  I am sending out postcards to promote my services that ask our fellow neopolitans to support locally owned businesses.  Remy's has been good enough to agree to share some of their recipes so that people will actually hang on to the postcard (recipe card size, with my pic and contact info on the other side) AND went beyond my expectations by suggesting that I offer my clients a free meal with a signed contract (looks like it comes from me but the restaurant covers the expense).  They get exposure and people in the door and I get people to keep my info and hopefully take advantage of the giveaway.  Don't underestimate the goodwill of your local businesses - they can help you while you help them.  Some places may even agree to pay for some of the cost of the advertising - which can either cut your cost or allow you to send out more than your budget would otherwise allow.  Hope this idea helps out others.  Let me know what your results are.

Shannon, what a great idea!  It sounds like a win/win situation for both of you!  Let us know what kind of leads it generates!  Good luck!

Hi Shannon, Great idea! I have recently started something similar. It is still too early to tell results, however, I do think I will get a listing because of the contact. Each month I plan to partner with a local business. They give me a special that they want to run and I send an email out directing them to my website to look at the special. I have a button on the front page of my site. If they are interested they have to call me for a code in order to redeem the offer. It helps the local business and helps drive people to my website and ultimately call me. Doesn't cost me a dime.
