Easy Curb Appeal Fixes That Won't Break the Bank
We all know that curb appeal gets buyers in the front door.
You Don't Have to Spend a Fortune to Grab the Buyers' Attention
We all know that curb appeal gets buyers in the front door. Once they are inside the home may grab them and they may make an offer. So what can a seller do to get that curb appeal that won't break the bank?
Spiff Up the Front Door
Clean, fresh paint on the front door is like wearing clean, polished shoes. You will be judged. Clean your door first and then add a new coat of paint. Even try a new color. It is okay to be a little bold and catch a little attention but make sure it compliments the rest of the outside. If you have time, you may want to touch up the shutters too. Make sure the hardware looks in good condition and if not replace it. This is a small investment but will make a world of difference.
A Pretty Wreath
Adding a touch of seasonal color will perk up the front entrance and extend greetings to your prospective home buyers and make them feel welcome. You can find one at a local craft or home improvement store.
Planters and Flowers
Add flowers to your planters and containers and mulch beds. This bit of color will make your home stand out at the curb. Everyone loves flowers and the care and accent they give to the home. Keep them watered and dead blooms pinched back.
Good Lighting
Make sure you have good lighting on the front porch. If that means you need to replace the fixture, do it. Adding some solar landscape lighting will give a nice effect also.
Clean Your Walkway, Drive and Porch
A little power washing can make a world of difference and make them look like new. The outside elements leave dirt and grime behind and over time they discolor and make these look dingy. If you don't have a power washer, rent one or use a power nozzle on your garden hose and some cleaner. It will be worth it.
Don't Forget the Landscaping
Clean out the shrub beds, trim shrubs and mow the lawn. While you are selling be diligent and do not let it get overgrown and tall. Everyone loves a neat and well-cared for lawn.
Consider Flying a Flag
It works in my area and may in yours too. Flying an American flag looks good and grabs attention. It's not just for patriotic holidays either.
These easy curb appeal fixes won't break the bank. Many you can do yourself or with a little help from your friends. The investment will pay off with getting home buyers in the front door with a smile on their faces and an open mind. Who knows, the next step may be an offer.
