Thursday was my day with one of my coaches. Lee Brower from "The Secret" is also known as the Gratitude Rock guy.
Time flys. I cant believe its been 2 years since the Secret had been out. He didnt even know he was going to be in the movie when it came out. He was interviewed about his story about having gratitude and many of you know that story.
His Son was diagnosed with the rarest form of cancer last year. His son had the rarest form of cancer that kills almost everybody that ever gets it. The statistic is like 99% of people die from it. One doctor wanted to do a surgery that he has only had one patient live from. (This is the best doctors in the world too.) Another doctor wanted to try a different cure too. 2 total different opinions from the best doctors in the world. He cant ever have radiation. He is maxed out on radiation treatment. He cant ever have anymore. They did a surgery that they had no idea if it would even work. They said...we dont know what we did..or if it worked. Lets see. His son exemplified having gratitude and being positive and enjoying life. His son wanted to help other people who had cancer get through it. His son focused on giving and gratitude. The results came back this week....His son has been cured. 0% Cancer. Amazing story and blessing for his family.
A great lesson he shared with me regarding what Coach Wooden taught him.
Coach Wooden said to Lee Brower regarding one of his goals: Why is it important to you to achieve that? Lee thought...well reading the bible every day has helped you so I guess it would work for me. Coach Wooden said...No...whats your reason you are going to achieve the goal? Lee said..well because if I read the bible every day I will become more like God and be a better person. Coach said okay, so just read one verse a day. One verse thought Lee? Coach said, y"es, just read a verse a day. The reason why you read one verse is because you need a goal that will set you in motion." You need to be passionate about what you are achieving and set a goal that will put you into action to achieve it.
It was a great day of learning and motivation for me. One I will be thankful for a long time.
Having Gratitude Brings Creative Energy and Inspired Thought. Key to overcoming a difficult time and making lemonade out of lemons.
He also talked about when you are grateful, you are able to bring more things into your life to be grateful for. When you are negative...you only attract more negativity. The key to overcoming obstacles is to start your day off thinking of something you are grateful for. This puts you into a positive mindframe that will allow you to receive inspired thought on how to overcome an obstacle.
My goal every day is to start out my day writing down what Im grateful for...before I plan what I want to accomplish. IM GRATEFUL FOR EACH OF YOU and YOUR COMMENTS. Learning from you and hearing your thoughts is what adds to my life greatly! Thank you.
What experiences have you had regarding gratitude or goal setting?
What are you grateful for?
Great story! It only proves that nothing is impossible if you believe in it.
