Tuesday Travelogue-March 29th
Welcome to the ongoing weekly series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our 86th week! Each week, some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:
to enjoy the ride"
"take a trip without even leaving the farm"
"expand your horizons"
"see through someone else's eyes"
and hopefully much more!
Today, to celebrate the new additions On Golden Ranch of our mule, Della and our Palomino horse, Pearl, I am making it a Horsey Theme. A few of these places are where wild horses still command the land...not much of that left, I'm afraid. Here are some highlights of those places. A short video is at the end of my very tame equines.
Have you ever seen horses in the surf? This is rare. Steve and Jan Bachman take us there to the Outer Banks of North Carolina on a wild horse preserve to explain why. (Steve even reminds me of Sam Elliott, the actor who's been known to be a cowboy now and then).
Not only do horses "do surf", but they "do snow", too!Let's visit Colorado in February with Sondra Meyer, who has her own horses and she's a horse property expert. She tells us how they do in cold temperatures and what to be aware of.
Busch Gardens In Williamsburg VA, Chincoteague Island, those were just two places that Sharon Lee took us on one of her many trips across America!
There aren't many places in this country where there are still wild horses. Salt River in Arizona is still one of them. But they were in trouble "with the law". Brian England explains. (There was a further update and better outcome, link here: Save The Salt River Wild Horses Update 2, which I signed a petition for).
To end, I'd like to introduce you to my additions of our Critter Clan, Della and Pearl! (And I believe you'll be able to guess who's who). Just a quick video! Not exactly wild, but we're wild about them!!
Please don't forget to comment on these blog posts and I hope that you enjoyed all of these virtual travels.
