Spring Cleaning Tips For Home Owners

1)Clean Eve Troughs

2)Pick up winter debris on lawns and gardens and rake if necessary.

3)Trim shrubs, bushes and trees. Spring is a good time if you did not do it in the Fall. Check with nursery since there are a few varieties that are not  recommended for Spring pruning.

4) Refresh mulch in gardens and around trees if applicable.

5) Roll the lawn

7) Aerate the lawn and give it a good start for the season.

8) Apply Spring Fertilizer. Check with Nursery or Lawn Maintenance Company to purchase the proper mix.

8) Wash windows inside and out. Don't forget the tracks which may be clogged with winter dirt and grime.

9) Power wash the decks and sidewalks. If wooden decks, use caution with power washer. If too powerful, you may damage the wood. Stain if desired.

9) Bring out the patio furniture and flower urns.

10) Place your order for your spring/summer plants. Popular varieties sell out and you want to be ready when the weather turns and you can plant.

11) Do not plant your flowers too early. May 24 weekend or after is a good barometer. We may have a few nice days but remember the night temperatures. If you plant too early, you may have to cover the young plants or bring your planters in to avoid frost damage.

11)Give the front door and the garage door a fresh coat of paint if it looks a little weathered.

12) Clean Garage

13) Start inground watering system.

You are ready for the Summer! Enjoy the season!Your Home
